Violence in the Media

Free Society and Youth Violence in the Media

There are a lot of ways to prevent or reduce violence in the media but it should not be regulated by some authority as we live in a free society.

There must be freedom in all sectores,in all areas In democtratic countries, this exist in human nature.
As  far as I am concerned people should manage themselves, their opinion or choices must be decided by themselves especially if they are not under the age of 16-18 they should be able to know what to do what to think. I am just saying that if people do not want to watch some channels or programs, they can just change and support some other useful program for themselves especially in this time there are a lot of easy way to do it  by using internet, television, radio and so on.
However there are a lot of movies or series which most people love watching, which has a lot of violence even on live programs that people are able to attack and hit each other. We can see it in sports programs as well. Of course that is not a good thing but people do not have to support that kind of programs if they do not like it at the same time it could be also useful for somebody, it is just their choices and life.
In addition, most people do not imitate violence that they see in the media moreover nowadays people see more violence than ever in the media. Video games have fighting, murder, war the movies and series have the same things as well.
Even though it is getting really worse, no authority should influence media such as;government, powerful politicians and so on. I would like to give an example, few months ago Our prime ministr(R.Tayyip Erdoğan) attend to a turkish series which has theme about life of one of the legendary Ottoman's Sultan which is called Kanuni Sultan Süleyman. T. Erdoğan had to interfere them to correct their practise in the series. Actually I agree with him they just show something that is not true history. But it should not be his business he has to try make an effort all his energy to increase our economy, human rights, freedom and so on. Even if government need to interfere violence in the media they can show that they support some educational programs without trying to regulate.
Besides in my opinion action, horror and this kind of movies that have violence are usually interesting, amusing and sometimes pragmatic as well. Moreover sometimes we'd better watch graphic movies to aware real world that violence which is possible to have it in our lives. Addition it is also better for the media corporations to make more money by selling violence in their channel. It usually increases their thair ratings so that they can sell more advertisements to higher prices and it makes country's economy more powerful by getting big amounth of taxes.
I would like to give a statistics about violence in the media.'American children spend around 28 hours in front of the TV during a week and could have watched around more than 150000 violent scenes before she/he becomes teenager'.
if you ask me if people want to protect their children they should exercise control over and teach them at early age that violence is not okay,do not allow your children to hit and yell siblings and playmates.Demonstrate to your children rational ways of coping with stressful situations. Children often mimic the adults in their lives. If they see adults throwing things, breaking things, yelling and hitting one another, they will not learn that violence is not a way to solve problems.
In additional to those things teach children at home to avoid violence, and help them carry that message into all parts of their lives and we should remember that stopping youth violence is not the responsibility of just parents but of the community and our society.
